I am writing to thank you for all your hard work in tailoring my uniforms over what can only have been a trying couple of months leading up to the Commissioning.

I am very happy with the standard of my uniforms and I am also very grateful for the lengths that I know you personally went to in order to have my father’s Mess Dress completed.

Both my brother and my sister attended the ball and to be able to wear that uniform meant a huge amount. Thank you once again and I look forward to using your services again in the near future.

I am delighted to see that you now hold a wall deserved Royal Warrant. It is a just proud recognision of the quality of your tailoring and record of achievement. Well done indeed.

The badge arrived here in Belfast today and I am most grateful for the prompt delivery. Remittance enclosed and I shall call should further items be required in the future.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thanks for what is an excellent outfit. The finish and quality is without a doubt first class.

The comments and looks I received at the Dinner Night were clearly borne out of the fact the mess kit is an excellent example of your work.

Once again I thank you!

Can I say just how very pleased I am with my formal Dress Uniform that you made for me in such good order and in so short a time frame. The quality is first class and the fit is perfect. I have now worn it twice to Buckingham Palace- once for my investiture and once for my audience with Her Majesty.

As we discussed, just as soon as I have the photographs of the investiture, I will forward one to you. In the meantime, my cheque in settlement of the account is enclosed.

Many thanks once again for your excellent service and very polite and punctilious help.

Many thanks for the stunning uniforms that you were able to make up so quickly.

As with my first lot of uniforms, they are outstanding.

I am writing to thank you for your services in the preparation and final production of my Service Dress and Mess Dress. Indeed the cut and measurement of both uniforms was commented upon by the Inspecting Officer.

Once again, please accept my heartfelt thanks for your excellent service. I shall certainly recommend your superb quality of pre and post-delivery support to my family and colleagues.

I am just writing to thank you and your team very much for my suit and uniforms. They really are excellent and the service you provide is superb.

To all those considering which tailor to choose would have no hesitation in recommending Golding’s, particularly those going AG Corps. From my intake I was the only one who received their uniform on time and fitting almost perfect first time. After sales service is also excellent, with free adjustments for a whole year for anyone who starts putting on weight again after Sandhurst!

Please excuse the informal nature of this letter however time dictates that it must take this form. First I would like to thank you for your efforts in completing my mess kit for the commissioning ball, I was very impressed by your skill and workmanship and it was certainly a weight off my mind at an extremely busy time. Secondly I have included my payment details to settle my account I hope you find all necessary details are encoded. Finally, and I appreciate it is probably not an issue for your company however I have not received my headdress yet and I believe that they may have not been sent to the correct address. I hope all the arrangements are agreeable to you and I klook forward to purchasing more quality goods from your company in the future.

Just to thank you very much for your company’s excellent service and outstanding quality. The uniform you provided me stood head and shoulders above that of other tailors. The superior quality is evident.

I look forward to your continued good service.

Thank you very much indeed for the Mess Kit that you made for me. I was very pleased with the uniforms and the service that you provided. I am sure that the little extra that I paid was worth every penny, when I compared my kit against those who had sp…. for cheaper tailors.

Thank you so much for making such a beautiful job of my Royal Air Force No 1 Home-Dress uniform. A uniform is more than just a suit of clothes, signifying as it does the lineage and continuity of our Service: even or especially a Service as young as the Royal Air Force. I am delighted with the finished article, and look forward to its first formal outing at the Palace later this month.

I have also enjoyed the whole process, watching a craftsman, such as you operate with such an unerring eye for detail. I must also thank you for your courtesy and that of your staff, which has been impeccable.

Thank you for the excellent service you provided in making my mess kit and hats.

Please find enclosed a cheque in full payment of your services.

It has been my great privilege to take delivery of the Service Dress (Coldstream Guards) that you made for me.

The moment I opened the boxes the quality of the craftsmanship was stunning and completely overshadowed any uniform I have worn in the past (both Regular and Cadet Service!)

When you were recommended to me by a fellow ex-member of the Household Division, I can know fully appreciate his enthusiasm and respect for your company.

Once again many thanks for the wonderful service and the final product I have received from you.

Wishing you many more years of success.

I would like to express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude for your exceptional work in providing me with full mess dress at very short notice.

I originally ordered my mess dress from a rival tailors during my time on the Professional Qualified Officers’ course (PQO 132) at eh Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. Unfortunately this proved to be a monumental disappointment. Over and above the frankly appalling customer service, I did not receive my mess dress despite waiting in excess of eight weeks.

Given forty-eight hours’ notice, you went well above and beyond what I consider your remit in order to help me, and managed to produce an outstanding mess dress; work of such quality remains a rarity. The quality of service I received from yourself is the best I have ever encountered. It is with great regret that I did not come to you first. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending you to all future cadets and Professionally Qualified Officers’; I do this with complete confidence.

Please accept my sincerest gratitude for the service you provided in producing me the finest Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) Officers Mess Dress. I have also personally thanked our Corps ASM, WO1 Marcus Mason for his personal recommendation on which accredited tailor to select from the list. The entire process from my initial contact with you to the third and final visit immediately proved what a skilled craftsman you and your professional team are as the uniform fitted perfectly.

It was unfortunate, but understandable, that you couldn’t be there for the Corps Late Entry Commissioning Course Mess Dress inspection, because I’m sure you would have been very pleased with the outcome! The Inspecting Officer of the day was no less than the REME Corps Colonel, who immediately singled me out for displaying how an Officers Mess Dress should appear and fit. Throughout the rest of the inspection I was asked to accompany the Colonel and provide an example to the remainder of my peers on how their uniform should have been tailored. I’m sure you would agree it was a good start to the beginning of my career as a Late Entry Officer.

I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to declare to all my future peers to not agonise over which suitably accredited tailor to be appointed to produce your Mess Kit, always go to the top of the list and select Goldings! You will not regret the decision.

Can I close by saying that the uniforms which you made for me are of the highest quality and feel like everything I expected from them and more. On my commissioning course the other students have ha uniforms made by a number of other tailors and nearly all had problems with them in one respect or another. I was the only officer who had all of his Uniforms with him, with all of the others still waiting for hats or finishing touches to be made.

Thank you for your assistance and continued high service.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank you for re making my Service Dress after I had it stolen in November 06. You were my tailor when I commissioned from Sandhurst and the uniforms you produced for me were outstanding. Having had a very bad experience with another tailor post commissioning, I knew there was only one tailor that could do this job for me to the standard required and in the relatively short time frame required; that was you..

As I am currently working in a 4 star office the prospect of having my uniforms stolen could have been a total nightmare but your prompt and professional service was first and foremost noted by the General and secondly appreciated by me.

Thank you so much once again and I will always recommend ‘Goldings’ in the future.

I would like to take this opportunity to send you this short note of thanks for the excellent job you did on producing my Numbers 3 and 4 Dresses prior to my move to this post. I can assure you that the excellent fit of the No 4 Dress was tested to the full and proved to be one of inordinate benefit as within two days of my arrival I attended two receptions in the British and Chinese embassies respectively. Needless to say in Athens in summer there were some 35 plus degrees of early evening warmth with the concomitant humidity. In these conditions the definite advantages of properly tailored garments were displayed to their very best. Whereas many colleagues from other delegations had stripped down to their shirt sleeves, I was able to remain poised, displaying all the elegance and style of British Army ceremonial uniforms. Well there was elegance and style as far as the clothes were concerned, I shall not comment on the model wearing them! More importantly the garments looked as good at the end of the evening as they had at the beginning and the effort required to bring them back to pristine condition between events was minimal. You may be assured that the effect was noticed and very favourably commented upon by all, even this ugly duckling looked good!

I am neither prince of the realm, general, nor service chief and am never likely to be any of these things but at Mr Golding’s emporium this does not matter. The attention of you and your staff was just as I remembered from previous visits; that is to say of the highest standard, courteous, polite and keen to accommodate my wishes. It was always thus and it remains a delight and a pleasure to do business with a gentleman whose organisation believes that only the very best is good enough and that the customer’s wishes are paramount.

Once again I thank you for an excellent service that has provided me with a series of uniforms for a stream of representative appointments over the last ten years. I wish you and your team all the very best for the forthcoming years and the continuing efforts of your business.

I am writing to thank you very much for the Field Marshal’s uniform which you have made for me. I am delighted with it and full of admiration for the quality of the work and speed with which you were able to react to my request.

I wore it on Remembrance Day celebrations at the Cenotaph and am very grateful to you taking so much trouble.

It is now three weeks since my Declaration Ceremony to become the High Sheriff of West Sussex. I have already worn the wonderful Court Dress you tailored for me five times and it is a joy to behold! It is a splendid combination of eighteenth century elegance with the contemporary practicality of poppers, Velcro and “metalized plastic” buttons. I salute you for your craft and above all for giving me a waist. You are indeed a master of your art.

Thank you for your excellent personal service, in particular for producing the Mess Dress so quickly. Also, I would be most grateful if you would pass on my thanks for your team of excellent tailors for the superb workmanship on both uniforms. The quality is higher than any uniform I have had made in the past, professionally produced to an extremely high standard. You should be justifiably proud of your own tailoring talent and that of your team!

I shall send a copy of this letter to the Regiment Colonel of The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment for his information.

Please accept my apology for this tardy note (and email to boot), but I wanted to thank you very much indeed for all your hard work (and anxiety) in getting my uniforms ready for my various appointments in Command. I have had to wear my Mess Kit, Greens and Blazer/Winchester Order, all within a couple of days of receiving them form you and they fit perfectly. I am particularly grateful for the close attention that you have taken personally in ensuring they were well made and fitted properly. You are as good as your word when you said I would notice the difference in standard of tailoring and service/attention to detail and you stand head and shoulders above your competition all things considered. Needless to say, I will be recommending you widely!

I would like to convey my sincere thanks for your service. You produced a high quality product with an equally high level of care. Your service has been excellent throughout and I am appreciative of having received my mess dress before starting at the Royal Military Academy. The experiences of those around me who have used different tailors are in complete contrast to the service you have been provided and I am extremely appreciative.

I would highly recommend you to those seeking a tailoring service in the future.

I wanted to take this opportunity to write you a short note to thank you very much for my new uniform and 3 piece suit. After a recent unsatisfactory experience with Costello it was a pleasure to do business with you.

You and your team are clearly head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to quality craftsmanship and customer care. The experience of buying and owning such bespoke items remains a privilege.

As you know I am posted to the United States for two years and I am convinced I will be the best dressed man there. I will make sure I pass on your details to anyone who enquires who my tailors is.

A quick letter to convey to you my thanks for your diligent work with respect to my Mess Dress. There are a number of recognised tailors invited by the Royal Military Academy but without doubt, the standard of workmanship from yourself is truly a cut above the rest. I shall not hesitate in recommending your services to my colleagues and friends alike.

I am writing to thank you and your staff for your efficient and professional service when I approached you for an urgent mess dress recently. For a long time I had been trying to source the correct RAVC mess dress and had experienced great difficulty with a different tailor. By the time I came to you it had been six months since I was initially measured up and I was getting desperate.

The entire experience dealing with you was refreshing. From the moment I arrived you endeavoured to make the process as simple as possible and put in huge amounts of effort to ensure that I didn’t face the same problems I had done previously. I realise that I gave you an almost impossible deadline but you responded with such enthusiasm; I couldn’t have asked for better service. The dress arrived promptly and was finally made to the expected specifications at a very high standard.

I would like to thank you again and will recommend all future RAVC officers to come to yourself when sourcing Army dress. Keep up the good work.

I would like to express my appreciation for the uniforms and suit that you made for me in August last year. I am extremely pleased with the finished articles especially having witnessed the frustration of my fellow young Engineer Officers who chose other tailors.

I decided to use your services because of the detailing on the uniforms and the civilian suit, which I saw on you mannequin at the tailors’ day, was, compared to that displayed on other stalls, far superior. The finished products are excellent, with my service dress and civilian suit in particular having an excellent line and shape

The other young officers in contrast have been left with ill-fitting garments that have quickly come unstitched in some cases. More surprising though is that the wrong fabrics have been used for service dress, which is the wrong colour and mess dress, which is quickly going bobbly. As a result they have had to spend much time getting their tailor to bring their uniforms up to standard.

Thank you once again for the excellent and stress-free tailoring that you provided, I look forward to using your services in the future and I will not hesitate from recommending you to others,

I am delighted to see that you now hold a Royal Warrant. It is a just and proud recognition of the quality of your tailoring and second of achievement. Well done indeed.

The badge arrived here in Belfast today and I am most grateful for the prompt delivery. Remittance enclosed and I shall call should further items be required in the future.

My best regards as always.

A rather belated letter of thanks to you and your staff for all your assistance over the recent months. Most significantly, my thanks for a truly superb Dinner Jacket. A quite excellent fit, as has become your hal…….., and with all those just right features – in particular the lignin, resplendent in chestnut Troop Gold! I look forward to placing my next order with you, once my account has had time to settle! I enclose the latest Regimental Journal from 1st Regiment – I know you like to keep up to speed on events and have a collection in your St Albans shop, so I felt I should provide an offering!

Once again, my warmest thanks for everything – I continue to spread the word, especially among my civilian friends.

I wish to thank you for the short notice and efficiency with which you dealt with my request. The jacket even returned with its crowns fitted and it has only recently come to my notice that the original crowns were still at home! Such a touch is indeed worthy of your reputation.

I am still awaiting news on my future but be assured that the rights new will see me arranging an appointment with yourself for the new RLC mess kit.

Thanking you once again and very much hoping to see you soon.

I wanted to thank you for the superb job you did making my Mess Dress and Service Dress. I was very impressed that you were able to get everyone’s kit ready for them by the end of term and, at the moment, both uniforms seem to be a perfect fit.

Having taken delivery of my new suit and tunic I am most impressed, as always, with the quality.

I have won best dressed Town Crier several times in ‘crying’ competitions all over England.

My Chinese silk waistcoat made the evening. It impressed all the ladies, I am delighted to say.

“My elegant smoking jacket was the talk of the dinner party – even more comfortable, if possible than my sports jacket.”

Thank you, Mr Golding, for a lovely dinner suit. On my table were two ‘Sirs’ and a Lord and I felt every bit as distinguished as them.”

I don’t know why Goldings asked me for a testimonial – where else would you go for a boating jacket?

“I am so pleased I decided not to choose a cheaper tailor for the blazer. The Goldings quality showed, as ever, on my first ‘inspection'”

“A lovely traditional look. Another beautifully tailored jacket from a superb craftsman”

“Thank you for an amazing suit – a great fit and admired and commented on by everyone when I wear it.”

“At my first interview for a £100,000 job the first question from a senior director was – where did I get my suit tailored? It made me feel totally at ease”

“A superb suit – the best I have ever owned. It cost, but it’s worth every penny!”
